SLR boasts one of Australia’s largest Acoustic teams, and we have a rare opportunity within our high performing and friendly Brisbane team for a graduate-junior level consultant to step into. This full-time position will offer the successful candidate endless opportunities to work with and learn from leading industry experts. You will be given the opportunity to work across our entire project portfolio consisting of environmental and transport noise and vibration as well as building and architectural acoustics.

We are looking for the right individual to join our team. To us, that is someone who enjoys working closely with their senior colleagues and brings a genuine passion to working within environmental acoustics.

Responsibilities

You will be part of a large team of experienced professionals (60+) across the APAC region and ten (10) working on small to large-scale projects in QLD. Typical day-to-day tasks would include:

  • Collaborate and deliver projects with other personnel within the local, national and global team of acoustics and vibration and/or other relevant technical disciplines to achieve desirable project outcomes.
  • Involvement with various project tasks including internal/external client liaison, project input data management, execution of technical tasks and report deliverables, ensuring proper quality control and review process in place on each project task.
  • Involvement and contribution to other acoustics and vibration projects within the acoustics team, work in the following areas is expected: noise and vibration measurement and monitoring, modelling predictions, numerical analysis of results and associated reporting.
  • Involvement and contribution to SLR and external client multidiscipline projects within the acoustics realm.

Skills and experience

Our ideal candidate will have a willingness to challenge their capabilities, be highly motivated and be an innovative thinker, as well as possess:

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree or completing studies (ideally mechanical engineering or science (physics). Postgraduate qualifications will be an advantage;
  • 1-3 years’ consulting experience.
  • Experience in noise measurement and monitoring, data processing and analysis.
  • Experience in the Environmental Sciences would be desirable.
  • Strong analytical, verbal/written communication and technical report writing skills.
  • Previous exposure to the broader acoustic and vibration discipline.
  • Knowledge of noise monitoring equipment and/or 3D computer noise models such as SoundPLAN, CadnaA or ENM.
