Under general supervision, this position is responsible for the execution and overall quality of sound for all events, shows, and projects taking place within Parker Arts facilities.

• Ensures sound and video for all events, shows, and projects meets or exceeds the standards and expectations of the Department.
• Plans, prepares, sets up, operates, supervises, and restores audio and video equipment for assigned events and shows; coordinates equipment purchases and rentals.
• Is responsible for the artistic creation and collaboration of all audio and video utilized; oversees the artistic creation and collaboration by others in the areas of sound and video.
• Procures, installs, maintains, and safely and correctly utilizes all audio and video equipment and systems.
• Acts as Head Audio Engineer, “A2,” Monitor Engineer, or similar position, as assigned; supervises and/or liaises with similar technical positions as necessary for productions and/or events. 
• Supervises and assists in the production of live events and shows including but not limited to, the assembly, disassembly, and use of sound, video, lighting, scenic and staging elements, band gear, and production equipment.
• Interprets contracts, riders and plans to provide appropriate equipment and timely setup.
• Assists with short and long-range planning projects involving sound and video. 
• Assists with administrative tasks including, but not limited to, advancing shows, scheduling staff, budgeting, capital project planning and execution. 
• Assists the Production Team and Department personnel, as needed, to plan, prepare, execute, and restore from shows, events, and projects.
• Provides setup and oversight of audio and video needs for facility rentals. 
• Supervises on-call and part-time staff; assists with hiring, training, and supervising the work of assigned staff.
• Acts as Stage Manager and/or Event Lead as assigned. 
• Complies with and ensures compliance with all Town policies and procedures and all departmental safety rules and regulations. 
• Performs other related duties as assigned. 

The requirements listed below are representative of the education, experience, certification and/or licensure required. An equivalent combination of education and experience to perform the essential duties and meet the necessary employment standards may be considered.

Requires two (2) years of experience in live audio production and event production. 

A bachelor’s degree in audio production, theatre production or related area is preferred. 

Supervisory experience is preferred.

Experience in planning, setting up, mixing, and restoring all sound and video elements involved in live music concerts, musicals, plays, corporate events, and other live events and shows is preferred.

Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid Driver's License issued by the State of Colorado for the type of vehicle or equipment operated; safe driving record and a minimum of two (2) years of driving history.

• Skill in the training and supervision of personnel. 
• Skill in the use industry standard audio and video equipment including, but not limited to audio mixing consoles, audio amplification systems and equipment, video routing systems, video equipment and projectors, and wired as well as wireless audio equipment and technology.
• Skill in the operation of computers and other types of modern office equipment.
• Skill in the provision of customer service. 
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and conflicting priorities. 
• Ability to work under and adhere to deadlines, even under stressful or difficult situations.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to follow both verbal and written instructions, and the ability to issue clear and concise verbal and/or written instructions to others and report operations verbally or in written form.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Town officials, community organizations, the public, promoters, coworkers, and supervisors.
• Ability to work an irregular schedule including mostly weekends, evenings, and holidays.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check.

Tools & Equipment

Requires use of general office equipment such as computers, printers, telephones, and related software. Use of specialized tools or equipment may also be necessary, including but not limited to technical devices, mechanical tools, heavy equipment, machinery, public-safety-related items, or other industry-specific systems. If required by the position, the employee may operate a personal or Town-owned vehicle. 

General and Sensory Requirements
The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and use hands and fingers to handle or operate objects, tools, or controls. Duties may also require stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing stairs or ladders, and maintaining balance. The employee must be able to talk and hear effectively, both in person and over the phone, and must be capable of operating a vehicle if required by the role. Vision requirements include consistent near and far visual acuity, depth perception, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus to allow a broad field of vision.

Moderate Physical Demands
This position involves frequent physical activity and movement. The employee must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to twenty-five (25) pounds frequently and up to fifty (50) pounds occasionally.

Environment

Physical presence onsite is required. Work is primarily performed in a climate-controlled office environment, but the employee may occasionally work in varied indoor and outdoor locations. The noise level is typically moderate but may be loud during events. This position occasionally involves work in inclement weather, including extreme heat, cold, wind, or precipitation. Employees in this position may be exposed to fumes, odors, dust, or airborne particles and may work in proximity to moving mechanical parts or machinery.
