The AV Technician I installs and maintains audio visual equipment and computing equipment in classrooms, conference rooms, and shared spaces. This includes all AV Solutions such as: Control System Automation, Room Monitoring Systems, Live Event Production, Lecture Capture, Digital Signage, Digital Sound Processing, Live Streaming and Video Conferencing/ UnifiedCommunications. This includes computers and peripherals located at instructor podiums and student use computers in classroom labs.
Duty #1 (30%)
AV Troubleshooting: Provide Tier 1-level real-time troubleshooting and resolution of AV and computing issues in support of technology in classrooms, conference rooms, event spaces and lobbies. Advise instructors about operation of classroom equipment. Advice staff about operations of conference room and digital signage equipment. Document issues in a ticketing database and help develop knowledge bases and user guides for known issues, resolutions, and user guidance.
Duty #2 (30%)
Installation and Maintenance: Install and maintain AV infrastructure including cabling/termination and support of AV equipment such as projector maintenance, audio troubleshooting, asset management, and inventory audits. Install and maintain computer equipment in classrooms and labs. Performs weekly room checks and periodic full system checks. Document work in project management systems and documentation workspaces. Provide appropriate communications to stakeholders.
Duty #3 (15%)
AV Events: Operate equipment to enhance effects of sound and display at live events. Provide logistical support and customer support hospitality assistance for special events when needed.
Duty #4 (15%)
ID Card Center Support: Provide backup support in the St. Petersburg ID Card Center approving card requests, printing cards, and troubleshooting card issues.
Duty #5 (10%)
Perform other duties within AV/IT as determined by the supervisor. Participate in professional development activities as appropriate.
