Project Overview
We are developing a series of cinematic sound moments for Bastet’s upcoming EP, designed to function like narrative “chapters” within a short film. These moments sit between and around existing tracks, enhancing story, atmosphere, and emotional continuity without overpowering the music.
This is not about creating full songs or beats. It is about cinematic sound design, environmental audio, and narrative transitions that feel intentional, immersive, and emotionally precise.
Scope of Work
We are looking for a sound producer to help design and integrate the following moments:
- Post–Sandman Transition
- A portable, cinematic sound cue suggesting the world waking up
- Subtle, evocative, and forward-moving
- Feels like dawn, emergence, or awareness rather than a literal scene
- End of “Memories at Midnight”
- Rain on a windshield as the track closes
- Quiet, intimate, reflective
- Should feel like an exhale, not a dramatic shift
- Green Room → Stage Transition (into “Cairo Bounce”)
- A green room scene where:
- A tour manager knocks
- Asks if she’s ready
- Leads Bastet down a hallway
- Ambient buildup as the crowd grows louder
- Seamless transition straight into the energy of “Cairo Bounce”
- End of EP – The McLaren
- A McLaren engine revs just before the end of Afterlife (final track)
- Once the song ends:
- Brief burn of rubber
- Car drives away
- Symbolism: motion, destiny, lift-off, forward momentum
- Should feel cinematic and purposeful, not gimmicky
What We’re Looking For
- Strong experience in cinematic sound design, film audio, or narrative-driven music projects
- Ability to design realistic yet stylised environments (rain, crowds, engines, spaces)
- Excellent sense of timing, restraint, and emotional pacing
- Comfortable working with existing music and enhancing it without distracting from it
- Access to high-quality sound libraries or the ability to record/source clean, cinematic audio
Deliverables
- Final sound design elements integrated at agreed timestamps
- Stems and full-resolution audio files suitable for mastering
- Iteration rounds based on creative feedback
Nice to Have
- Background in film, trailers, or long-form narrative audio
- Experience working on concept albums or cinematic EPs
- Understanding of how sound design translates across streaming platforms
How to Apply
Please send:
- A short intro about your background
- Links to relevant sound design or cinematic audio work
- Any examples where you’ve worked with narrative transitions or environmental sound
This project is about storytelling through sound. If you enjoy building worlds between the notes, we’d love to hear from you.
