The BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! is NYC’s longest-running, free performance festival, and a beloved summer tradition featuring approximately 30 varied large-scale performances and attracting upwards of 200,000 people each summer to the Prospect Park Bandshell.


About the FOH Audio Engineer Role: 


The Front of House Audio Engineer will work as part of the production team committed to high-level production values and safety; they are expected to contribute to a positive artist, audience, and co-worker experience. This person should be skilled in audio technology. able to multitask and is collaborative. This role works with the audio team to execute proper audio engineering for each show and maintain all audio systems. This role is responsible for creating an immersive and musical experience within the venue. This person will also provide support to the performers with audio levels creating the best sound. 


What You’ll Do in the Role:


The FOH Audio Engineer will be responsible for the following in addition to any other projects as assigned by their manager, Lead Audio Engineer, BCBF:

  • Design/install/maintain/strike line array sound system
  • Design/install/maintain and strike seasonal audio rental package
  • Install/maintain/strike all FOH audio system
  • Organize the inventory for house speakers, and operate the FOH system
  • Maintain proper SPL levels
  • Mix FOH audio console
  • Check and ring out audio system

Physical Demands:

  • Working in the outdoors including heat, humidity and inclement weather
  • Climbing ladders, ability to lift up to 50 lbs or more

  • Experience & Qualifications:
    • At least 5 years of experience as a FOH Audio Engineer. 
    • Degree and certifications in technical theater and/or concert production preferred.
  • Communication & Relationship Building: A highly skilled communicator who is a team player and can support the achievement of team goals.
  • Commitment to Equity & Inclusion: Brings experience operationalizing equity within the Performing Arts and or Hospitality function.   


Other Things to Know:


  • Compensation: The salary for this position is $40/hr.
  • Status and location: This is a seasonal role based at the Lena Horne Bandshell at Prospect Park. 
  • General Schedule: 
    • Load In: May 4th - June 3rd  (Monday-Friday 8 hours/ day)
    • BCBF Season: June 4th - September 19th (exact dates to be determined Approximately 10-14 hours/ day)
    • Load Out: September 21st  - October 3rd  (12 days, 8 hours/ day)
