This role is associated with the proposed Universal destination in Bedford, UK. Successful candidates will spend time at the Universal Creative Headquarters in Orlando, and at the site in Bedford.
Provides technical management, inclusive of budget and schedule, for an attraction or attractions. Responsible for the successful specification, bid/award, design, production, installation, and acceptance testing of Ride and/or Show systems, to include Lighting, Systems. Role may have multiple direct reports who manage multiple aspects of an attraction.
A successful candidate would be able to perform the following to include, but not be limited to:
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Comfortable Influencing decisions of major nature. High degree of tact & diplomacy to obtain favorable decisions or maintain good will. Comfortable working in a non-routine environment with frequently changing situations.
Bachelor's Degree in applicable technical field required (examples include, but are not limited to, theater production, lighting design, technical theater) or equivalent demonstrated skill and experience; Advanced Degree preferred.
7+ years' experience in direct theme park-specific technical/engineering roles supporting lighting equipment required (examples include, but are not limited to, holographic technology, lighting control, lighting design, video display technology) or similar experience in related technical field.
5+ Years: Required Vendor Management experience with significant in-field installation related experience. 3-5 Years: Preferred experience with contract management and practices in the theme park and/or construction industries. 7-10 Years: Required related experience in scenic systems. Theme Park-specific experience is highly preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
