Ultrasound Equipment Buyer I 
 
The Buyer I position supports the activities related to the company procurements, i.e. material (production and non-production), equipment, service parts and supplies. The position is responsible to assist the Purchasing Manager and Buyer II in all aspects of the company’s procurement.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities
 
  • Prepares purchase orders and sends copies to suppliers; follows all processes and procedures for supplies, materials service parts and equipment related to the company’s needs
  • Helps to maintain timely purchases to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service
  • Facilitates warehouse and inventory control processes and policies
  • Verifies PO shipments arrive and match both cost and quantity for ease of AP vouching
  • Communicates with suppliers and vendors; coordinates with vendors PO’s and checks on status for all pending and back ordered items
    • Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices, expedite deliveries and resolve shortages, missed or late deliveries and other problems.
  • Works closely with Receiving Department to ensure proper supplies arrived
  • Traces delinquent arrivals from Purchase Orders
  • Arranges for disposal of surplus materials
  • Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with US laws
  • Complies with the company’s polices and business ethics
  • Works with accounting to resolve any PO discrepancies
  • Updates PO eta as needed
  • Find potential suppliers to meet company needs
  • Supports Purchasing Manager and Buyer II to meet the demands of the department
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills to receive and convey information clearly and effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, vendors and guests
  • Helps to identify continuous improvement in purchasing and administrative processes and offers solutions to promote efficiency as Avante continues to grow
  • Works professionally and efficiently with all level within the organization
  • Adheres to all company employment policies and safe practices
  • Performs other duties as assigned
 
Experience/Training/Education/Competence
  • Associate Degree in Business, Accounting or associated field preferred
  • 3+ years’ experience in relevant experience
  • Strong working knowledge of inventory management software (e.g. ERP), preferred
  • The Buyer I will be trained to the basic requirements of 21 CFR Part 820 and ISO13485:2016 which are translated into the Standard Operating Procedures and the Work Instructions and Forms that apply to his / her assignments.
  • The Buyer I will be trained to the training SOP-622-01 and QF-622-03.
  • An appointed Delegate will train the Buyer I so that he or she knows how to locate the current revisions of applicable (see Training Matrix) Procedures, Forms, and Service Manuals that govern his or her work.
 
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
General: Exceptional ability to speak and write effectively in a business environment. Ability to maintain an elevated level of accuracy in preparing and entering data. Superb time management and organizational skills with the ability to meet regular and frequent deadlines. Attention to detail required. Ability to work well as a team member. Technical: Ability to effectively use business software and Enterprise systems, email, search engine, Internet; ability to effectively use Microsoft Products: Outlook, Word, Excel and to use or learn specific software needed to improve productivity.

Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as financial journals, operating and accounting instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of the organization. Ability to read through reporting and compliance requirements.

Math & Reasoning: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and willingness to adapt to change and take the initiative.

Physical and Environmental Elements
Physical Demands: Ability to sit continuously for over 3/4 of normal work shift, and stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms for at least 1/4 of the normal work shift. Ability to climb stairs. Ability to lift and carry, push or pull up to 20 pounds for several minutes. Ability to stoop, crouch and reach. Ability to talk or hear continuously. Ability to see clearly to do all work-related tasks (clear or corrected vision at 20 inches or less). Finger dexterity is required frequently for over 3/4 of the normal work shift.

Work Environment: Position is typically performed in the office environment with standard equipment and moderate noise levels (examples: computers, printers, fax, copiers, light traffic, and phone); however, will often interact with the production/warehouse environment. Thus, the employee works in a normal office setting and will travel to an open warehouse area where temperatures are subject to outdoor conditions in terms of cold and heat. There is exposure to various tools and equipment as well as forklift operations and corresponding noise levels.
