We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Senior AV Engineer to join our team.  The role is located in Washington, DC (4 days in office expectation).

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, set up, and operate AV systems for live and hybrid events, ensuring highquality experiences in-room and for remote audiences.
  • Program, configure, and run digital audio consoles, video switchers/routers, controllers, and playback systems; manage clean signal flow, gain structure, and wireless systems.
  • Execute live camera and content switching to broadcast and inroom displays; manage runofshow assets (e.g., VOG announcements, walkon/off music).
  • Coordinate and support collaboration platforms (Microsoft Teams, Webex, Zoom) and Cisco video conferencing codecs.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across QSYS and Crestron control systems; perform break/fix and install/swap procedures in equipment racks.
  • Interpret asbuilt drawings and system documentation; maintain technical records, runbooks, event reports, and equipment inventories.
  • Lead events with internal teams and freelance technicians; communicate clearly with executives and stakeholders under pressure.

 

Audio Expertise

  • Live and hybrid audio engineering fundamentals, including signal flow, gain staging, FOH/broadcast mixing, and wireless system management.
  • Programming and operation of Yamaha DM/CL/QL series digital mixers.
  • Dante audio networking (design, routing, troubleshooting).
  • Creation and playback of VOGs and walkon/off music.
  • Shure wireless microphone systems (programming and operation).

 

Video Expertise

  • Video production fundamentals and endtoend workflows.
  • Programming and operation of PTZ cameras (e.g., Panasonic AWUE150A with AWRP150 controller).
  • Programming and operation of video switchers (e.g., Blackmagic ATEM Constellation) and presentation systems (e.g., Barco E2/E3 with Event Master).
  • Macro/workflow optimization (e.g., Elgato Stream Deck).
  • Video playback systems (e.g., QLab, PlaybackPro) and post workflows (Adobe Creative Suite).
  • Live camera and content switching for broadcast and inroom displays.

 

AV Systems Support, Maintenance, and Technical Operations

  • Read and interpret asbuilt drawings and technical documentation; manage system architecture across audio, video, and control.
  • Operation and troubleshooting of QSYS and Crestron; break/fix and racklevel install/swap procedures.
  • Preventive maintenance, equipment testing, configuration management, and validation of video conferencing and AV systems in production workspaces/control rooms.
  • Develop and maintain runbooks, operational workflows, and event documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, usability, and efficiency of AV processes and systems.

 

Collaboration and Conferencing

  • Operation and support for Microsoft Teams, Webex, Zoom, and webcast platforms (e.g., GlobalMeet).
  • Programming and operation of Cisco video conferencing codecs.

 

 

Technology Leadership, Communication, and Asset Management

  • Evaluate and integrate emerging AV hardware, software, and production methodologies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Oversee AV asset lifecycle management, including audits, procurement recommendations, and vendor relationships.
  • Adapt across contexts—from conference room support to complex local and hybrid productions.
  • Lead and coordinate freelance technicians and specialists; ensure clear client communication and stakeholder management.
  • Maintain composure and professionalism with executivelevel clientele.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of professional experience in live event AV engineering (corporate, broadcast, or production environments).
  • Proven handson expertise with the equipment and platforms listed above.
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills; meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift, stage, and safely deploy AV gear; adherence to safety best practices.

  • AVIXA CTS
  • Dante Level 2/3
  • Manufacturer training (Yamaha, Shure)
  • QSYS Level 1/2
  • Crestron certifications
  • Cisco Collaboration/Video certifications
  • Barco Event Master certification
  • Blackmagic Design certification

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $68,000 and $175,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. 
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
