Job Description

Bose Research is seeking a passionate and inventive Audio/DSP Machine Learning Engineer to help shape the future of sound. In this role, you will push the boundaries of audio technology across our Premium Audio, Luxury, and Audio Tech Licensing businesses. You’ll explore and develop cutting-edge DSP and machine learning approaches that redefine what’s possible in audio rendering, voice capture, and sound-centric experiences. Working at the forefront of innovation, you will co-invent breakthrough technologies and guide them from exploratory research into advanced development, enabling the next generation of world-class Bose products and platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, evaluate, and refine Machine Learning and DSP algorithms with a focus on audio applications.
  • Drive new areas of research and growth by leveraging the state-of-the-art deep learning and audio AI models.
  • Research, implement and evaluate a variety of published approaches and algorithms for problems in DSP, Machine Learning, and audio signal processing.
  • Develop infrastructure for machine learning models, training data, and evaluation.

Minimum Qualification

  • M.S. or PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Acoustic Engineering, Computer Science, Music Technology, or related field with a machine learning focus.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated audio/acoustics/DSP machine learning research and engineering experiences
  • Demonstrated experience with programing in Python and MATLAB.
  • Demonstrated experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Expertise in machine learning and deep learning applications in the audio domain
  • Experience with cross-group and cross-culture collaboration.
  • High levels of creativity, independence, and quick problem-solving capabilities.

Preferred Qualification

  • Experience and interest in music playback rendering for out loud audio systems
  • Experience in critical listening
  • Publication records in one of the ML or audio DSP conferences including ICASSP, Interspeech, ICLR, NeuraIPS, DCASE, ISMIR, etc.
  • Experience in machine learning for signal processing data
  • Familiar with DSP for real-time applications, room acoustics, and mathematics.
  • Music or Acoustic experience and interests

The hiring range for this position in the primary work location of Framingham, Massachusetts is: $138,000-$189,750.The hiring range for other Bose work locations may vary.
