This is a SHIPBOARD role.
Applicants must:
- Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
- Be committed to the position you are applying for at least 2-3 contracts before a transfer or promotion
- Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency duties and/or associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
- Be willing and able to uphold the general safety management responsibilities specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control
- Be willing to follow and embrace United States Public Health requirements and guidelines as well as Environmentality requirements and Company practices
- Be willing to be appreciative of working and living in a multi-cultural environment

Your Responsibilities:
- Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this)
- Complete a pre-employment medical
- Obtain a criminal background check
- Bring approved work shoes
**Disney Cruise Line is a drug-free workplace. All new hires are required to undergo drug/alcohol testing within the first week onboard and throughout their contracts. Failure to pass the drug/alcohol testing will result in immediate termination.
- Minimum three years concert and/or event audio as a Front of House or Monitors engineer. Musical theatre experience beneficial.
- Proven experience with Ethernet based amplifier and speaker monitoring systems.
- Ability to perform in environments that have second-hand smoke, pyrotechnics, chemical smoke, haze, fog, dry ice and other special effects
- Experience with Yamaha Digital Audio consoles, DPA microphones, Wireless talkback systems and in-ear monitoring systems such as Sennheiser and Shure.
- Be at least 21 years of age
- Be able to speak, read and write fluent English
- Willingness to live and work onboard one of our vessels for a certain length of time (based on position)
- Be able to work a seven-day, 70-84 hour week with limited time off
- Be able to adhere to Disney Cruise Line appearance guidelines
- Enjoy working in a high-volume, fast-paced, guest-service oriented environment
- Be flexible with your work schedule, job duties and work locations

- Support Senior Technician Shipwide in maintaining show integrity and quality levels for audio in all Shipwide venues.
- Responsible for all shipwide audio needs including microphone change and repair
- Educate and train Adult & Family Ent Hosts and Youth Activities Ent Hosts in the correct handling and care of microphones and belt-packs.
- Mix live performances by bands, DJ’s and Entertainment Hosts incorporating Hard Drive playback systems, SMPTE timecode and Digital audio consoles.
- Partner with Audio 1 to service and maintain shipwide emergency paging and the QSC ‘Q-Sys’ audio network.
- Perform Emergency abbreviated shows as necessary based on weather conditions, safety requirements, rehearsals and other altered technical requirements as deemed necessary by the Technical Production Manager, or other leader in charge of the event.
- Responsible for assisting in other duties and tasks as assigned by the Senior Technician Shipwide, including but not limited to cast crossover, changeovers, load ins/outs, new show installs, equipment tests, vendor support, movie premieres, stage track cover, groups and company events
- Daily responsibility for installation, set-up, operation, preventative maintenance and testing of technical audio control equipment in all Shipwide venues. Set/strike and operate theme nights, band sets, variety shows and deck parties
- Attend to the preventive maintenance and routine repair of all audio control equipment and audio systems ship wide including Broadcast
- Maintain cleanliness of shipwide work areas, control booths and lockers
