    1. POSITION FUNCTION SUMMARY

    Effectively use resources to assist the Head of Technology, I.T. Operations Manager, and other District Personnel (as assigned by either the Head of Technology or the IT Operations Manager) in the installation, maintenance, and management of the CMS District hardware, software, network systems, and Audio-Visual systems.

    • AV Tech Support Rep Level 1- Duties and Responsibilities
    1. Research parts, equipment, hardware, and other technology needs and communicates requirements to the I.T. Operations Manager.
    2. Completes work assignments and ensures all work is completed correctly and efficiently.
    3. Keeps customers informed of project status when necessary and communicates up, down and laterally when problems are encountered.
    4. Maintains technology help desk system and ensures jobs are completed as assigned based on the priority set by the I.T. Operations Manager.
    5. Provides for the application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with staff users, to determine hardware, software, or system functional specifications.
    6. Provides for the design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing or modification of district Audio, Video, and Theater Lighting throughout the District.
    7. Provides for the testing or modification of computer programs as they relate to district machine operating systems.
    8. Ensures the installation, setup, repair and support of Audio, Video, and
    9. Trains personnel as needed in the use of hardware, software and network equipment associated with Audio, Video, and Theatrical Lighting equipment throughout the district.
    10. Provides for preventive maintenance of Audio, Video, and Theatrical Lighting throughout the district.
    11. Maintains the district warranty/repair process.
    12. Assists the Network Administrator and Systems Administrator when approved by the IT Operations Manager or Head of Technology.
    13. Travels to various sites to provide assistance as needed.
    14. Cross trains in other Technology areas as needed.
    15. Requires some after-hours and weekend work depending on the situation.
    16. May require work-from-home during non-traditional scenarios.
    17. Requires highest levels of customer support and interaction to provide first-class service and support for all technology needs to meet educational requirements.
    18. Other functions as directed by the IT Operations Manager, the Head of Technology, or the Superintendent.
    • Education and Experience Required
    1. High School Diploma
    2. One year of experience working with audio and video hardware and software installation, repair, and support.
    3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Head of Technology may find appropriate and acceptable.

      Preferred

    4. Associate degree in RTV, Theater, Audio Visual Technology or similar discipline would be advantageous.
    5. 10 Hours of post-secondary coursework, preferably in Radio Television Communications, Theater, Audio Visual Technology, Film Production, or a similar discipline.
    6. One or more of the following nationally recognized certifications may be used in lieu of degree at the Head of Technology discretion (Certified Audio Engineer (CEA), Certified Technology Specialist (CTS), Extron AV Associate, AVID Certified Operator: Pro Tools, Certified Apprentice Lighting Technician (CALT), Commercial Audio Technician (CAT), BARCO certification and/or other Audio-Visual Support Technician Certifications.
    7. Experience working with and training adults.
