GENERAL PURPOSE
The Audiovisual Technician provides technical assistance and support to our end-users. Fresno’s Chaffee Zoo Corporation (FCZC) meeting rooms, conference rooms, classrooms and animal enclosures have a wide variety of audiovisual equipment and sound systems. The Audiovisual Technician will support both staff and guests and facilitate seamless use of our resources and fulfill our mission and vision by providing transformative exhibits, enhancing education and conservation, and enhancing opportunities for both staff and outside organizations to conduct effective meetings and gatherings. 

 

Full-Time employees receive our comprehensive compensation package which includes 100% employer paid Medical/Dental/Vision, Employee Assistance Program, 401k, 10 Paid Holidays, Paid Sick and Paid Vacation time on an accrued basis. The pay range for this position $23.00 - $27.00 per hour. Offers will be based on the successful candidate's experience.

 

 

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
•    Provide Audiovisual (AV) setup, assist users with connecting laptops and other devices, and provide support and troubleshooting for meetings, events, and classrooms.
•    Provide technical support and troubleshooting for computer hardware, software, and network issues. 
•    Install, configure, update, and maintain computer systems, peripherals, and software applications. 
•    Assist users with email, software applications, printers, and network connectivity issues. 
•    Document and track all support requests and resolutions using a ticketing system. 
•    Document equipment and procedures for AV setup in all meeting rooms and classrooms.
•    Maintain inventory of hardware and software assets. 
•    Participate in the deployment of new hardware and software. 
•    Provide support and assistance to users on computer systems and applications. 
•    Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve recurring issues. 
•    Collaborate with other Information Technology (IT) staff to ensure efficient service delivery.
•    Safely operate a vehicle for business purposes including but not limited to driving between FCZC facilities and offsite locations.
•    Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support team and organizational goals.
 

Education and job Qualifications

  • High School GED or HS Diploma required.
  • Associate degree in Computer Systems preferred.
  • Basic IT certifications (e.g., A+, CompTIA Network+) preferred.
  • One (1) to two (2) years’ work experience using Microsoft Office365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
  • One (1) to two (2) years’ work experience with classroom/meeting room for AV systems, computer hardware and software required.
  • One (1) to two (2) years’ work experience supporting Windows operating systems preferred.
  • California driver's license, valid vehicle insurance, enrolled in the CA Employer Pull Notice program and successful completion of the FCZC Drivers Training Program required.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, and extensive reading. Color perception is also required.
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication (in person and via telephone) at normal speaking levels with or without correction.
  • Expressing or exchanging ideas through the spoken word. The employee must convey detailed or important spoken information to others in individual and small group settings.
  • Hand and finger dexterity is sufficient for typing and other administrative tasks.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull or carry up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to walk between work locations (up to ¼ mile between work sites, average two to three total miles walking each day).
  • Climb and work from ladders on equipment and work on floors and under desks on equipment. 

 

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • The position primarily functions indoors, with some outdoor exposure to heat, cold, insects, poor air quality, and inclement weather. 
  • The employee may be exposed to environmental substances such as dust/dirt from Zoo grounds.
  • Regular local travel and occasional out-of-town travel may be required.
  • Ability to work overtime, evenings, weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
