A large and well-equipped secondary school in Birmingham is seeking an experienced AV Technician to oversee audio-visual systems across the site. The school hosts regular assemblies, performances, presentations, and external events, and the AV Technician will play a key role in ensuring high-quality technical delivery.
Managing classroom, theatre, and hall AV systems
Setting up and supporting assemblies, productions, and school events
Maintaining projectors, screens, lighting rigs, and sound systems
Troubleshooting technical issues across the school site
Supporting digital learning platforms and presentation technologies
Ensuring all equipment meets compliance and safety standards
Assisting with examination and presentation setups
Maintaining AV inventory and documentation
Advising leadership on future AV upgrades and improvements
Experience in AV, IT support, or technical production
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Knowledge of lighting, sound, and projection systems
Excellent organisational and communication skills
A proactive and solutions-focused approach
Flexibility to support occasional evening events
