SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the load in, load out, set up, breakdown, and clean-up of the Showroom. Will additionally work in all areas that require set up such as room rentals and banquets.  Will also work with Audio monitors and production crews regarding audio needs/requirements.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION

  • Completes production aspects in Showroom and other event spaces.
  • Audio monitoring
  • Responsible for lighting tech work for shows.
  • Loads and unloads Artists’ equipment trucks.
  • Set up and break down of dance floor, chairs, and tables. 
  • Build special items for showroom.  
  • Assist Marketing and Sales with such items as setting up Live Remotes, Video Recording, set up of Audio/Lighting equipment for special events, changing casino signage, etc.
  • Assist Showroom Host as needed.
  • Assist Showroom Security as needed.
  • Maintain Showroom Equipment and assets to include but not limited to:
  • house monitor mix equipment
  • lighting equipment
  • secure all audio equipment
  • secure all backline inventory
  • Mix FOH audio
  • Strong technical knowledge
  • Identify, ship and receive electronics in need of repair
  • Willingness to cross-train and provide support in related areas of operations.
  • Maintain appearance, cleanliness and assets of the Showroom.
  • Other duties as delegated by supervisor.

 

OTHER NECESSARY SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Must have excellent customer service and communication skills both verbal and written.   Must be a team player with a positive attitude.  Must be highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks at one time. Must be able to complete tasks and projects in a timely manner by prioritizing obligations and time.  Must possess the ability to work with various personalities while maintaining impartiality.   Must respond to supervisory guidance and assignments and accept constructive criticisms in order to learn new, updated information. The need for quickness and ease of adjustment to the work environment and flexibility to change are essential in this position.  

 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Minimum age is 18. High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience required. Must be able to work independently.  1-2 years’ experience with audio monitoring equipment required.

 

DRIVING REQUIREMENTS

Valid Michigan Driver’s License and be insurable by the GTB insurance carrier preferred.  

 

EQUIPMENT TO BE USED

Professional sound and lighting equipment, spotlights, construction and rigging equipment.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS

May be required to lift up to 75 lbs. and be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.  May also be required to reach, bend, stretch, kneel, crawl, lift and carry frequently. Will be asked to shovel snow in walking area of the backstage. Must be comfortable with heights. 

 

TYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS

Must be able to effectively handle stressful and compromising situations while remaining focused and professional. Must be able to deal with difficult people without losing perspective. Must be able to work productively under strict time restraints with variable deadlines. Will be working on high platform catwalks running spotlights, should not fear heights. Certain Artists’ may place demands upon you. You must be able to separate yourself from the Artists’ fame.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

Must be able and willing to work in a crowded, loud, smoking environment. Must be able to handle being under constant surveillance. May be required to work in small, enclosed spaces. Must practice all safety policies, procedures and standards as set by OSHA. Generally, work will be inside the showroom or backstage. Will be handling large or heavy items when unloading and loading an Artist’s equipment truck and may be subject to diesel smoke. May work in a very smoky atmosphere when the Artist wants to use the smoke machine. Will be subject to exceptionally loud music. Must be able to work varied hours - late nights and weekends included. 

 

COMMENTS

Native American and Tribal preference will apply. Candidates must be able to pass a background investigation and a drug and alcohol urinalysis as a condition of employment. Employee must adhere to company policies regarding strict confidentiality.
