Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Mid-Level AV Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical support for our audio-visual systems. This role involves a mix of remote and in-person support, user training, event scheduling, and equipment maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Provide first-line technical support for all AV equipment via phone, and escalate to in-person assistance when necessary.
  • User Training: Train users on the proper use of AV systems in our conference rooms and event spaces, ensuring they are comfortable and proficient with the technology.
  • Event Coordination: Answer email requests, assist with scheduling AV resources for events, and ensure all technical requirements for meetings and events are met.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Regularly troubleshoot, maintain, and refresh AV equipment in conference rooms to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Qualifications & Skills

Required Experience:

  • 2-4 years of hands-on experience in AV systems installation and support, particularly in a corporate or hospitality environment.

Hardware & Equipment:

  • Control Systems: Experience with integrated room control systems such as Crestron, Extron, or AMX.
  • Video Conferencing: Proficiency in setting up and troubleshooting video conferencing units, including Cisco Room Kits, Polycom systems, and Logitech (Meetup, Rally).
  • Audio Components: Hands-on experience with Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) like Biamp and QSC, digital audio mixers, and various microphone types (lapel, handheld, ceiling-mounted).
  • Video & Display: Knowledge of professional displays, projectors, and LED video walls. This includes experience with digital switchers and scalers.
  • Cabling & Connectivity: Understanding of various cable types and connectors, such as XLR, HDMI, CAT6, and Speakon.

Software & Platforms:

  • Conferencing Platforms: Administrator-level knowledge of major platforms like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and WebEx.
  • Ticketing Systems: Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) or ticketing software such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Zendesk for tracking support requests.
  • Presentation Software: Proficiency with presentation playback software like PowerPoint and other event-specific applications.
  • General Productivity: Competence in using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) for scheduling and communication.

Education & Soft Skills:

  • An Associate's degree or certification in a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential for this role.

Preferred Certifications:

  • AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) is a strong plus.
