The Senior Audio Visual Technician is a hands-on technical leader responsible for the set up, operation, and removal of audio visual equipment on a day-to-day basis, while delivering exceptional face-to-face service to meeting clients and hotel partners. The Individual in this position will build upon the AVmedia Culture, Core Values and Core Purpose by always being a role model. Forge excellent relationships with Family members and key customers whenever possible.

 

This team member should be friendly, adaptable, and confident in fast-paced environments where plans can change quickly. Safety, professionalism, and customer experience are top priorities. While strong technical skills are required, equal importance is placed on attitude, communication, leadership, and the ability to mentor others. The Senior AV Technician should genuinely enjoy serving others and helping the team succeed.

 

The candidate must be able to spend extended periods on their feet, lift at least 25 lbs above waist height, travel between venues as needed, and work flexible hours including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Experience with both Mac and Windows systems is required. Networking knowledge is a plus.

 

Availability required Monday–Sunday, days and nights.


Responsibilities


• Lead and support the setup, operation, servicing of the floor, and striking of AV equipment in a safe, efficient, and detail-oriented manner.

• Serve as a senior on-site presence, actively supporting live events and responding to real-time technical or service needs on the show floor.

• Communicate with meeting clients and hoteliers in a confident, positive, and professional manner.

• Attend BEO (Banquet Event Order) meetings as needed to review event scope, technical requirements, and execution details.

• Support scheduling needs by assisting leadership with crew readiness, coverage, and event flow.

• Provide guidance, coaching, and day-of leadership to team members to ensure quality execution and adherence to standards.

• Document daily activities according to hotel or event site protocol.

• Identify opportunities to improve service quality, workflow efficiency, and event execution.

• Maintain and protect all company assets from damage, misuse, or theft.

• Foster strong working relationships with team members, hotel partners, and key customers.

Requirements

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Strong working knowledge of general AV equipment (microphones, projection, screens, audio systems, lighting, laptops, breakout rooms, etc.).

• Proficiency with digital audio mixers, intelligent lighting, networking concepts, advanced switching, and HD projection.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior live event or hotel AV experience required.

• Due to the operational needs of the role, candidates must be able to maintain a commute of approximately 45 minutes or less to the assigned hotel.

• Leadership or senior-level technical experience strongly preferred.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license if driving a company vehicle, with a clean driving record over the past three (3) years.
